SHIRLEY'S SOCIAL

Hi Everyone - just to say thanks to all those that attended Shirleys Social.  Considering how bad the fog was we had 186 people on the night - fantastic. 

Thanks to Katie Rhodes - Darren Jones and Westridge who all done a great job in keeping the music flowing. 

Thanks to Allan and Ann Wood who done a great job on the disco - loose wires and all. 

Big thank you to all those people who helped on the door / selling raffle tickes / bingo calling etc. 

Thanks to Ian McKay who done a sponsored head / beard shave and to all those people that sponsored him. 

Thanks especially to Wayne (Shirley's son) and Emma who came.  Wayne couldn't believe the number of people that had turned out for his mum and he sends everyone his thanks - unfortunately he was unable to make a speech as he was so overwhelmed by the occasion.

We have raised a grand total of £1,382 for the hospice.  I have spoken to the Fund Manager and have agreed with her to pay for a new front door and porch window, as I wanted the money to be used on something we could see.  Hopefully when this is installed I will send an article into the Linedancer with a picture.

Once again - thanks for coming - I know Shirley would have been thrilled - but even more made-up had she known it was in her memory.
